Beatson boys bowl out Scots
Wednesday 24th September 2008, 3:00PM BST.
TRINITY came from a goal behind to defeat Jersey Scottish 3-2 at Les Quennevais last night to book a place in next month’s Charity Cup final at Springfield.
Paul Aitken fired the Scots ahead with a fine early goal, but Trinity hit back with two well-taken goals from Barry Beatson before his brother John made in 3-1 by shooting low into a corner.
Trinity goalkeeper Jimmy Styles made an excellent reflex save to deny Aitken with 20 minutes remaining, but Scott Devlin was on hand to score Scottish’s second several minutes from the end.
The defeat was Scottish’s first in five games while Trinity recovered from a 4-1 defeat by Belgraves in the Champions League in Guernsey on Saturday.
