Even the cautious ‘feeling the pinch’

0589050_cropped.jpgTHE bear market is biting even the most cautious of investors.

That is the conclusion of Guernsey-based Asset Risk Consultants, who have recently opened an office in Jersey. ARC provides risk profiling, asset allocation advice, manager selection and performance monitoring for wealthy families and their trustees. The Jersey operation is headed by Euan Dangerfield, who was previously director of investment services at Mourant Private Wealth.

The company was formed ten years ago by Graham Harrison and Peter Langford, initially within a trust company business, Bachmann Group. The operation was acquired by the management in 2002 and is now independent.
In Guernsey ARC employs 22 staff and has grown signficantly in recent years. It also has the services of an affiliated software development company in the UK.

Mr Harrison said that the decision to open in Jersey had come from the speed of growth and partly because it had become difficult to find the right quality of people in just one jurisdiction. In addition, many of their clients are already based here.
