Finance advisers commission original artwork

A COMPANY has commissioned three original paintings by a local artist in a bid to brighten up its reception area.
Bridport Investor Services, which advises wealthy individuals and corporate and government institutions, wanted to support local talent by giving artists the opportunity to pitch ideas for the company’s newly designed reception. The company consulted the gallery director of Falle Fine Art Ltd, John Falle, to help find a suitable artist and the successful candidate was Gabrielle Radiguet, a well-known and established local artist.
Bridport managing director Jason Bell said that he was drawn to Ms Radiguet’s abstract designs and bold use of colour. ‘We wanted some artwork that would stand out and be noticed and prompt a reaction one way or another from visitors,’ he said.
Mr Bell attended a recent exhibition of Ms Radiguet’s work and selected styles and colours from her portfolio that would complement the reception area but also stand out. She produced three pieces for Bridport – The Railway Walk, Golden Bower II and Ouaisné. When asked to comment on her paintings, Ms Radiguet said: ‘The very bold, dramatic use of colour marries well with the interior design and then leads the viewer into a engagement with the paintings.’
