I am so disappointed that not one of my postcards has been received yet
Wednesday 1st October 2008, 2:56PM BST.
From James Opray.
I HAD a wonderful holiday in Jersey and found everyone so friendly and helpful that I wanted to tell my friends in Scotland about the lovely time I was having.
I therefore made a point of posting eight postcards of my favourite Jersey views to my friends on 15 September at the main Post Office at 11.10 am.
Its now 29 September and not one of my postcards has been received, which is very disappointing as
some of my friends are elderly and unable to get out, and the postcards were to remind them of happier days.
Is this a common problem?

This does’nt supprise me in the slightest. I posted my cheque for Parish rates on 15th September only to receive a notice from the Parish that I had incurred a 10% penelty as they did not recieve it until 24th!!

Hi James,
Having now been here for 3 months, and having sent many things back to the UK, I can honestly say that I have found the Jersey postal service to be fantastic, especially compared to the UK one. I’m sure Jersey Post are not infallable, but I would be tempted to think that your mail has hit a problem upon receipt in the mainland rather than over here.
There is a plane that takes Jersey post over to the mainland so there are not a lot of opportunities for this mail to go ‘missing’.
I take it that you did use Jersey stamps? and that you posted the mail in the box for the UK? (although I believe the two lots get clumped together and sorted through anyway)
