Le Sueur still has backing of business
Thursday 2nd October 2008, 2:55PM BST.
TREASURY Minister Terry Le Sueur remains the favourite candidate of the business community to take over as Chief Minister, but he has the support of less than a third of them.
In the final survey of the year by members of the Chamber of Commerce, Senator Le Sueur picked up 29% of the votes – more than the chasing pack of St Helier Constable Simon Crowcroft (14%), Environment Minister Freddie Cohen (13%) and Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf (9%).
And Transport Minister Guy de Faye remains the minister whom businesses love to hate as 68% of them say they want him to go – a figure that has fallen from 78% in June.
The news was also less than rosy for Senatorial candidate Senator Ozouf, because after three years in the Economic Development post, just 45% of respondents want him to stay in charge. It was the first time his approval rating had dipped below the half-way mark.

I would hardly call that a ringing endorsement for what is an establishment candidate who has produced very business friendly budgets.
I have not spoken to a single ordinary islander who supports him so he had better hope he is more popular amongst his colleagues.

Only 68% of businessmen want to see Guy de Faye quit?
I think I can assure him that it is 90%+ in the general population!
He should pop down to the bus station one morning…
