Liberty Wharf ready by summer

RENOVATING the former abattoir site into a shopping and restaurant mall could be finished by summer next year.
The £30 million project started two years ago and is the last section in the Liberty Wharf scheme by developers Harcourt.
The central part of the site has a walk-way ‘like Convent Garden’ and the entire complex will have a total of 12 shops and four bar/restaurants/cafés. The design for the east and west ends are still awaiting planning approval.
Harcourt director Patrick Power said: ‘This is the final element of Liberty Wharf, having completed the bus station and office block. This old abattoir has been restored using a lot of its old features, such as the archways.’
