Architect Paul Harding of BDK Architects said that the owners of Plémont Bay Holiday Village site, who include Pontins owner Trevor Hemmings, intend to submit an application to Planning to put self catering accommodation on the land.
The news comes days after a proposition by St Ouen Constable Ken Vibert, who wanted the States look into the value of the site so negotiations to buy it and return it to nature could begin.

Many States Members, heritage campaigners and members of the public have been against any redevelopment of the site for years and the National Trust for Jersey considered buying it at one stage. Mr Harding said: ‘The footprint will be located within the existing built area but smaller than the existing footprint as the clubhouse will be smaller than the existing amenity building.’

He could not say at this stage how many flats there would be but said the owners propose to build a mixture of two-and three-bedroom self-catering units, a clubhouse providing leisure facilities, reception and a one-bedroom staff flat.
A statement from the site owners said: ‘The owners of Plémont Bay Holiday Village are currently finalising a scheme to revitalise the tourism use of the site for self-catering accommodation.
