Two members of the English force’s professional standards department interviewed local businessman Roy Boschat about allegations he has made against the ex-deputy police chief.

They arrived in the Island on Tuesday for a two-day visit. It is understood that they are speaking to a number of Islanders who have grievances against Mr Harper. The complainants are thought to include former officers who have claimed that they were the victims of anti-corruption ‘witchhunts’ launched by Mr Harper.

The Ulsterman retired from the States force at the beginning of August after spearheading the inquiry in allegations of historical child abuse. He consistently denied any wrongdoing when he became involved in a public mud-slinging match in the media almost two years ago, when he said that the officers and Mr Boschat had acted improperly.
