Piano teacher found guilty
Saturday 18th October 2008, 9:59AM BST.
A PIANO teacher was found guilty on Friday night of committing sexual offences against children.
Harry George Hayman (69) preyed on his young students and used his position of trust to select the most vulnerable victims – some of them as young as nine years old.
Shortly after 6.30 pm he was found guilty of six sexual offences against children. Hayman, also known as Gary, was appearing in the Royal Court on seven charges and the 11-strong Assize jury of six women and five men delivered their verdict after around four hours of deliberation.
However, they could not agree on one of the indecent assault charges and Deputy Bailiff Michael Birt returned a not guilty verdict.
