0565262_cropped.jpgA CONTROVERSIAL eight-week court case against Harcourt Developments which left Jersey politics in a state of confusion this summer opened in Dublin today.

Irish property developers Peter Crean and Andrew Kenny, along with solicitor Ivor Fitzpatrick, claim that Harcourt Developments Ltd – the preferred developers of the Waterfront – and its director Pat Doherty are excluding them from the affairs of an alleged partnership over a development in Jersey.

The three businessmen claim that they had a financial interest in the Island Site (Liberty Wharf) scheme. The dispute is also believed to involve the proposed £330m Esplanade Quarter development.

The three businessmen involved in the case have so far refused to comment but case documents reveal that they claim to own a percentage of the developments.

This action is being contested vigorously by Harcourt, which argue that none of the men made any financial investment in the projects.
