JERSEY surfers Josh Letherbarrow and Fabian Baker have been rated as the top two at this year’s British Universities & Colleges Surfing championships in Newquay. The Falmouth University students won the team event at Fistral Beach, picking up the championship trophy.
Letherbarrow and Baker fought through a field of 200 surfers to reach the final of the competition, where they faced Rob Webster-Blythe of Cardiff A and Jacob Downs of Plymouth A. In ‘textbook’ Fistral surf conditions with some epic waves, the pair went on to win the top two spots, with Letherbarrow taking the title, and Baker placing second.
