Kyran’s ice-rink back for Christmas
Wednesday 29th October 2008, 2:59PM GMT.
ICE skaters will be able to get as close to the ‘Dancing on Ice’ experience as possible after Jersey resident Kyran Bracken’s announcement that his £250,000 rink will be open in the Island over Christmas.
The former England rugby player turned skating star will be practising his moves for the ‘Dancing on Ice’ Christmas Special on the rink, which will be on top of the Waterfront car park from 29 November. Kyran, who won last year’s ‘Dancing on Ice’ TV series and was also the winner of the Champion of Champions show, said that he had toyed with the idea of taking the rink to the UK but had been persuaded to keep it in Jersey for Christmas.
He said that he was currently discussing the possibility of allowing all Jersey’s schools to use it without charge for the first two weeks of its run. The rink will be open from Friday 29 November to Monday 5 January.
