In the past five days, 35 players across the Channel Islands have been competing for a coveted place in what is set to be Jersey’s biggest ever tennis tournament.

Under-10 players Anne-Sophie Bois and Massimo Furness, under-14 players Octavia Lamb and Daniel Harrison, and under-18 players Katie Gouyette and James Connolly each won their categories and will now face their Guernsey equivalents in the AIB Channel Island championship finals, which are to be interspersed with the men’s and ladies’ professional tournament games.

Each match is to be umpired by ATP officials and linesmen, and there will also be ball boys and girls on court.
