Both clubs now have 15 points apiece, although afterwards Trinity coach Joe Finnigan said that he had a great deal of sympathy for the opposition, who played the entire game with only ten men.

‘They had five out of six regular players on holiday and in the second half they obviously tired,’ he said.
‘We had nobody missing and, to their credit, St Brelade were the better team for the first 20 minutes. After we scored, though, it put a different complex on the game.’

That goal came courtesy of a Scott Finnigan run down the right wing in the 20th minute and a pinpoint cross that centre-forward Daniel Clark hit cleanly into the left-hand corner of the net.
