Parish hall staff were not unhelpful

Wednesday 5th November 2008, 2:56PM GMT.

From Daniel Murphy, Constable of Grouville.
I AM taking this opportunity to reply to the letter (JEP, 27 October) from Thérèse Walker of Arnworth Avenue, Grouville.

She alleged that our parish hall staff either couldn’t or wouldn’t give her any information about paths and rights of way to the beach at Fauvic from the coast road. The inference that they were being unhelpful is incorrect as they told her that we do not have that information. I have complete confidence in my staff who work very hard to deal with parishioners equably.

She refers to the footpath behind her house which now has a wheelchair ramp accessing the promenade. I can confirm that when I asked Transport and Technical Services to provide this I had to get permission from the owners who were kind enough to help by agreeing to allow the works to go ahead.

I would like to thank that department for their prompt attention in order to help a wheelchair bound person living nearby.
