Friday 7th November 2008, 2:58PM GMT.
JERSEY’s three-times National women’s badminton champion Elizabeth Cann ensured England victory over Poland last night.
England followed up their 2-1 series win in Germany last month with a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Poland, in Swindon, with Cann taking the third and deciding point with victory over Anna Narel – just as she did in the European Team Championship semi-final with Poland in Denmark in April.
Jersey’s world No 26 came from a game down to win 15-21 21-10 21-12 in 39 minutes to give European silver and world team bronze medallists England a 3-0 winning lead.
The England team will go to Poland for a return match in Warsaw on 16 December 16 as Wright prepares his squad for the European Team Championship at the Echo Arena Liverpool in February.
