Fighting financial crime on agenda at symposium
Friday 7th November 2008, 2:59PM GMT.
A SENIOR trial attorney in the United States Department of Justice will be among the speakers at a symposium on economic crime next week.
Jack de Kluiver, who has investigated and prosecuted in cases involving Colombian drug proceeds, will be giving his perspective on the relationship between US anti-money laundering laws and offshore financial centres.
The Attorney General, William Bailhache, will be giving the keynote address at the symposium, which is an annual event organised by Jersey law firm BakerPlatt.
Also speaking will be the Director General of the Jersey Financial Services Commission, John Harris, who has chosen the topic ‘living dangerously in difficult times – recent trends in economic crime from a Jersey perspective’.
