St Joseph’s A and B and CCC A and Pegasus have each garnered four points from three matches.
Defending champions Pegasus recovered from last week’s defeat to overcome CCC B 7-3. Dave Cronin led the way, with all his wins coming in straight sets. Bruce Gallichan beat Barry Vibert and Kay Lefebvre 3-0 but lost 11-9 in the fifth game of an excellent match against Trevor Lefebvre.

Junior Scott Cassin gained two vital wins for his side, coming back from 2-1 down to beat an energy-sapped Vibert and Kay Lefebvre 3-2. Trevor Lefebvre proved too good, however, for Cassin with a 3-1 victory. A good night for Lefebvre was completed as he teamed up with a rejuvenated Vibert, who played some remarkable winners from all angles, in a 3-1 doubles success against Cassin and Clive Hansford.

CCC A beat St Joseph A 7-3 CCC to join them at the top of the table, despite three wins from Craig Gascoyne, who maintained his 100 per cent record. Gascoyne dropped his only game to Eugene Ellis. Gascoyne’s team-mates, juniors Thomas Morgan and Max Tupper, were less successful and both lost 3-0 to Ellis, although Morgan did take a game from Bobby Vincent, Tupper doing likewise against Luke Walker.
Ellis and Walker look to be a vastly improving pairing as they defeated Gascoyne and Tupper 3-0 in some style in the doubles.

St Joseph B beat CCC C 10-0, although a number of the games were a lot closer then the overall match score might suggest. Tom Quinn was in fine form for the winners, dropping just the one game to Hugo Tupper. Colin Marriott beat Tupper 3-0, backing this up with 3-1 victories over Mark Liron and Glen Brown. Josh Band defeated Brown and Liron 3-1 before securing the whitewash with a hard fought 3-2 victory over Tupper. Band and Quinn took the doubles 3-0 against the Liron and Tupper combination.
