Tournoi sailors up to the task

00599711_cropped.jpgCREW members from Aztec and the Prince’s Trust have been crowned winners of this year’s Le Tournoi Sailing Challenge after a mammoth two-day, two-night sprint through the Channel.

The race was launched with a through-the-night crossing of the Channel from the UK to Guernsey, before a full day’s bay racing in Guernsey the following day.

The crews then set sail for Jersey, and after another day’s bay racing they took on an overnight crossing to Cowes, in one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, before a short sprint back to Portsmouth.

The Aztec / Prince’s Trust crew were presented with their trophies by the managing director of corporate banking at race sponsors RBS International, Adrian Gill, having beaten 2006 champions Rawlinson and Hunter and a crew from NatWest.
