They can also take pleasure in the fact that they are helping to save endangered animals when they have a cheeky tipple because ten pence from every bottle goes directly to the organisation. Initially 3,000 bottles of the bitter have been produced by Jersey Brewery and it is being sold in supermarkets, pubs, and hotels across the Island priced at £2.49 for 500ml.

It is named after the theme of next year’s anniversary celebrations, It’s Time, which calls on local people and visitors to get involved with Durrell’s work, and any money raised will help fund the charity’s efforts to save animals from extinction.

The blonde beer, which has eco-friendly packaging, has a light malty taste that can be enjoyed by people of all tastes, according to Paul Hurley, the head brewer at Jersey Brewery.
