Steve Meiklejohn, a partner at law firm Ogier, will run the Jersey Half-Marathon on Sunday, 16 November, for the Zannah Trust, which raises money for Zannah Pemberton and others who have suffered head injuries.

Miss Pemberton (22) was left severely disabled after an accident on Bonne Nuit Hill in October 2006.
She is now unable to speak and needs constant nursing care.

Steve (48), who has previously raised money for cancer sufferers and victims of the Chernobyl disaster, hopes to raise at least £2,000 for the trust.

He said: ‘I first became aware of Zannah’s plight when reading the coverage in the JEP at the time of the accident. ‘About six months ago my wife met Zannah’s mother at a function and got to know more about her situation.

‘I have already taken part in the Jersey and Amsterdam marathons this year, but thought that the half marathon would be a great opportunity to raise money for the Zannah Trust. I am confident that I can raise at least a few thousand pounds for the trust.’
