The pharmacy next door

A NEW pharmacy has opened next door to the Cleveland Road Clinic, offering a convenient way for patients to get their prescriptions.
Superintendent pharmacist Ian Harper (pictured) has spent the last four months setting up the pharmacy, which is part of the States’ initiative to provide a one-stop health centre so that Islanders can see their GPs and get their prescriptions in the same building.
Cleveland Pharmacy has had positive feedback from customers since opening last month. ‘It’s a lot more convenient for people,’ said Mr Harper. ‘When they have been to the surgery and get their prescription, they don’t need to find a pharmacy. The last thing you want to do when you are sick is walk around to find one. This way, you can go straight from the doctor’s and get your medicine straight away.’
Born in Leicester, Mr Harper joined Lloyds Pharmacy in the UK after going to university. He was there for five years before he moved to Jersey to work at Les Quesne’s in Don Street. Seven years later, he is running his own pharmacy.
