Does your face fit?

From Shelly Coutouly.
HAVING just filled out my driving licence renewal form and sent it off promptly with my enclosed photograph to the parish hall, I was rather upset and confused as to why it had been returned to me the following day.
Enclosed with my application form was a note explaining that the face on the photograph must cover 65% to 75% of the photo’s area. As I had visited a photo booth which advertises itself as producing pictures suitable for passports and driving licences, I was still a little confused . . . so I decided to query the note at the parish hall.
The assistant told me that after scanning the photograph she had been unable to see my features and I could be mistaken for an old lady (no offence, I’m sure). Apparently my head was not as large as it should be.
So my advice to anybody planning to avoid the rush and alleviate the burden on the parish hall staff is to make sure you sit very close to the camera — unless you have a very large head already — so that you don’t waste your money, time and effort. Perhaps it would be helpful to include this information on the application notes.
