Harvey seeks finishing touches

THIRD in the table – and deservedly so.
That is Ben Harvey’s summary of his team’s performance so far this season as he looks forward to Jersey RFC taking on Portsmouth at St Peter tomorrow afternoon.
The club’s chief coach is more than pleased with what his players have achieved this year in London Division I, although he does not believe that they are quite capable of promotion and will want to settle into this division before they move up a gear and start heading for national league status.
‘I think that we’re half-way up the learning curve and will improve over the course of the season,’ explained Harvey. ‘The players know how far they can go. Meanwhile Shelford (the team which tops the division) have money to spend, and I’m under no illusion. But we have the talent to consider further progress in the next few seasons. We’ve a settled side who will continue to improve while I also have the luxury of selecting from one of the best benches any team can ask for, in this league. At times I’m spoilt for choice.’
