What next? A £1 million payoff for Mr Power?

GRAHAM Power is probably not the best police chief Jersey has ever had. But he is not the worst. Now he has been offered the opportunity of retiring, which he has refus-ed. So he has been suspended.

What is the next step in this fiasco? If he is sacked as part of another probable cover-up, will he get the obligatory payoff in keeping with the ludicrous costs of this inquiry and apparent abuse of funds by his officers? And how much will that payoff be?

How about £500,000? No, come on, let’s give him a million. After all, the States seem to have money to throw around.
