Avast there, ye swabs

From M Jézéquel.
SO the Jersey and Guern-sey Law Review defends our position to judge our own misdemeanours.
Quoting Queen Elizabeth I’s dispensation, it conveniently forgets her great desire to promote piracy, ‘particularly towards the Spanish’, helped by the enthusiasm of a former governor of Jersey.
In these difficult times, piracy could be our salvation. We could revive Jersey’s shipbuilding tradition, or purchase the old HD Ferries boat, providing much-needed jobs.
Finance would be grateful for any increase in business, and the States could create a new tier of civil servants to oversee matters. Harbours would have greater traffic, and there would be more work for Customs and health and safety. The benefits are endless.
We could offer sailing trips when pickings are low, and maybe our outgoing Bailiff could become Lord Admiral.
Every cloud . . .
