Green Street cemetery needs a strimmer and a kindly hand
Saturday 15th November 2008, 9:55AM GMT.
From Richard Jenkyn.
PERHAPS it is only when one sees the condition of the magnificently kept military graveyards in France and Belgium during the media coverage of the 90th anniversary of the end of the Great War that one is able to compare them with the dilapidated state of our own graveyards here in Jersey, in particular Green Street cemetery, which appears to have been abandoned by the St Helier community.
The problem can be quickly solved with a power strimmer and a kindly gardener’s hand.
Come on, St Helier, let’s put this right.
