Future of Tourism in the spotlight
Friday 21st November 2008, 2:59PM GMT.
A proposal to turn Jersey Tourism into a private-public sector partnership, funded by both private and public organisations, will be the main topic at a winter forum next week.
THE Jersey Hospitality Association event next Thursday will focus on the Economic Development Department’s
proposals which, if approved, will be implemented next year.
This new structure, which is awaiting approval by the Council of Ministers, would have responsibility for all destination marketing activities and the association would be working in partnership with Economic Development to make it a success.
The main topic of the forum, to be held at the Grand Hotel, will be a presentation from the JHA’s strategic planning group, including Economic Development chief executive Mike King and JHA chief executive Gerald Fletcher, about the positive outcomes of the ongoing discussions relating to the proposed arrangement.
