Senator Frank Walker is due to meet Lord Bach, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Justice, who has just taken over political responsibility for the Crown Dependencies.

And it is going to be both a busy day for Senator Walker and States chief executive Bill Ogley, as they are also scheduled to meet the Shadow Lord Chancellor, Eleanor Laing. But the talks with German Ambassador Georg Boomgaarden may be the most important of all in the current circumstances.

Senator Walker said the meeting had been arranged after a very helpful intervention on behalf of the Island by local German consul Ken Soar. The Chief Minister said he and Mr Ogley will be discussing the ratification of the tax information exchange agreement signed recently with Germany.
