It’s top marks for Goddard
Tuesday 25th November 2008, 3:00PM GMT.
ISLAND and St Lawrence netballer Nicole Goddard has been selected for the 21-strong British Colleges Netball squad.
The former Jersey College for Girls student, who now attends Hartpury College in Gloucestershire, was chosen for the U19 outfit from more than 80 hopefuls from across England and Wales.
Goddard (16) has played for Team Bath and J United, and represented Jersey at U11 to U16 and senior level. She captained J United when they placed third in the National Junior Championships U13 competition in 2005, and was a part of the same squad when they won the U16 South West League last year.
Trialling at wing defence, Goddard impressed selectors for the British Colleges squad as she successfully marked her wing attack out the game on many occasions. Having played regional matches against girls from the south west, south east and the north east, she was chosen with 34 others to progress to the next stage.
