St Clement GC takes on second professional
Wednesday 26th November 2008, 2:59PM GMT.
ST CLEMENT Golf Club and the Longueville Golf Range have employed a second professional with a view to introducing new participants to the sport.
Former Les Ormes pro Steve Whiteside has been appointed full time and he will work alongside fellow pro Lee Elstone developing a series of courses to encourage more newcomers to take up the game.
The duo are to introduce the Young Masters Golf programme at St Clement, something Whiteside knows a lot about as it was he who successfully introduced the programme, which is now defunct, with his previous employers.
As well as juniors being invited to take up golf, the St Clement course directors have built a three-hole academy for newcomers to practise on. St Clement GC director Trevor Gray said: ‘This is a totally new venture for St Clement and the Longueville Range and it is being put together in the hope of attracting new players – young or old.’
