Here in Jersey, B&Q’s sales are up by nine per cent

From Chris Davies, store manager.
I AM writing with reference to your article on B&Q’s third quarter results printed in your newspaper on 27 November.
The article seems to have been misconstrued by many of my customers and many of my team, as, at face value, it states ‘Sales at B&Q slump nine per cent’ and features an image of the Queen’s Road store underneath.
I understand that this would have in no way been intentional, but it has caused some needless concern among people, especially during a week where several established retailers have run into financial difficulty.
Sales at the Jersey branch are actually 9 per cent up year to date and we are continuing the momentum we have built up over the last few years.
I would be grateful if you could set the record straight for us on this matter.
