Tennis: More competition needed

JERSEY’S young female tennis players need more exposure against experienced players to help them further with their games.
That’s the opinion of Rebecca Edwards (pictured) who headed a young Channel Islands ladies’ team to Glasgow for their Winter County League Division V programme at the weekend.
Unfortunately for the CI ladies they suffered 9-0 defeats to both the West and East of Scotland teams before then going down 7-2 on the final day against Hereford & Worcester to suffer relegation.
Edwards said: ‘It was a tough weekend and our inexperience showed against must stronger teams and players who also have a lot of experience compared to our girls.
