Rugby clash tomorrow

This week, on the eve of tomorrow’s home clash with Hertford, the positions are reversed following Jersey’s 18-16 defeat away to Bishop’s Stortford last Saturday at the same time as Hertford were thrashing Tring 42-3 at home.

The table does not lie, and Jersey’s 12 points to Hertford’s 14 make them a good mid-table bet at the end of the season but doesn’t do justice to their ability or the points they ought to have scored. And another home win – they remain unbeaten at St Peter – would lift Jersey above Hertford.

‘Over the last couple of weeks we’ve allowed ourselves to become distracted by not concentrating on what we have to do as individuals and by looking at other players and relying on them to do their jobs,’ explained JRFC coach Ben Harvey.
