Jersey youth take on Twickenham

youth-rugby_cropped.jpgJERSEY RFC U19s will need to be at their very best to knock Twickenham RFC out of the National Plate at St Peter tomorrow.

Having fallen some way short of top form against Petersfield in the third round of the National Cup last month the team, a mixture of the U18 squad and several other youngsters playing senior rugby, know that they will have to lift their game to the standard of previous rounds.

Home advantage could be crucial in tomorrow’s round three B tie though, as Twickenham, flying in tomorrow morning, will have much the same Red Eye flight problems that hit Jersey so hard last time out.

A heavy pitch also seems certain but, given luck with injuries – some of the squad, including captain Joe Ellyatt, will be involved with the senior first team this afternoon – then another tremendous contest should be in prospect.
