Kevin Allenby, who joined the firm in 2000, has acquired the share of the business previously held by the firm’s founder, Paul Fisher. Financial adviser Paul Carberry is also a director of the business. Mr Fisher (47) set up shop 12 years ago, offering pensions and investments. Before then he had been manager of Britannic Assurance in Jersey, and had also worked for Britannic in the UK.

‘Britannic decided to close their operation and I set up Omega from scratch,’ recalled Mr Fisher. ‘To start with I had a number of trust company investment clients and loyal clients and we built it up from there.’ The firm, initially based at St Andrew’s Studios, was the first practice to be granted registration under the 1998 Financial Services Law.

Before joining Omega, Mr Allenby worked for Liverpool Victoria and was their life inspector for the Channel Islands. He brought with him some ideas for developing the mortgage side of the business. Brought up in the Island, he attended St Helier Boys’ School and started working life as a motor mechanic.
