Scottish extended their unbeaten run to eight matches with their seventh victory courtesy of a brace of goals from Paul Aitken and a first of the season for Lee Burns.

The result delighted Scottish manager Pat Brennan who also heaped praise on his youthful opponents. Brennan said: ‘It was a wild night and not conducive for good football but both teams tried extremely hard. Wanderers have had a couple of bad results recently but they battled throughout and at times they played some good football.

‘Because they are young they are also a bit naive at times but they kept going and I’m sure their performance pleased their manager. Paul [Aitken] has scored five goals in two games for us now and it’s great to have him back from injury. We have not been scoring a lot lately and when that happens you find yourselves under a bit of pressure.’
