If you want to go to the Airport with luggage, the bus is not the way

From Tony Banner.
THERE seems to be a lot of concern that buses to the Airport have no room for luggage. While I have little sympathy for Connex, as a bus driver in the UK I feel it is only fair to put the following points.
One, the Airport is only one destination on the route. The idea of a bus service is to provide travel from one point to several others, along a set route. Some people will be on the Airport bus but will not be travelling to the Airport.
Two, the vehicles are designed to carry people, not major loads (including, in my own experience, someone getting very abusive because I pointed out there was no room to transport the bed and mattress they had just purchased). Unfortunately, if you do want to transport a family and luggage to the Airport, the bus is not and never was intended to be the means.
