An incredible display of spiteful bullying from the Barclays
Tuesday 16th December 2008, 2:59PM GMT.
From John Arrowsmith.
THE Barclay brothers moved to Brecqhou so that they didn’t have to pay any tax and since then all they’ve done is try to change the rules to suit themselves.
They built a grandiose and tasteless monstrosity on the island, whinged about inheritance laws and then tried to take over the government of Sark. They lost and have now indulged in an incredible display of spiteful bullying.
As the Seigneur of Sark sagely put it on television: ‘You say you want democracy, then when you lose you throw all your toys out of the pram.’
