Eastwood on the crest of a wave with top title

CHANNEL Island senior surfer Scott Eastwood is the Jersey Surfboard Club’s Surfer of the Year.
Eastwood is the current CI open champion and has performed consistently well throughout the year. He is also a respected coach to the junior surf team and accompanied the Channel Island squad to the Euro
Junior Championships in Morocco last month.

He was awarded the prize on Saturday at the Watersplash. JSC president Dave Ferguson said: ‘Scott is a very, very good role model. He’s a great guy and he’s been surfing really well. It’s no surprise that he has won the Surfers’ Surfer award and he thoroughly deserves it.

‘He’s going to be a key player for the Channel Island team at the European championships, which will be held in Jersey next year. He’ll be one of our main hopes, going head to head with the French.’
