MANY Jersey hotels are bracing themselves for a tough year ahead, but one has boosted its reservations by 20 per cent over the last month.
After installing a new reservations system in November, the Atlantic Hotel has increased its sales in what has been a troubled time for tourism. The hotel has become the first in Europe to install the Opera Xpress system, which operates through the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group, of which the Atlantic Hotel is the only Jersey member.
The new reservations system shows what rooms are available in ‘real time’ – the very moment when a customer is looking. It took around two years to implement and can be accessed through the hotel’s new website at www.theatlantichotel.com, which was launched in February.
Atlantic Hotel managing director Patrick Burke, pictured, said that there had been a reservations increase of around 20 per cent since the new system went live last month.
