PORTSMOUTH Football Club are to retain the services of Jersey Wanderers defender Matthew Rondel until the end of the season.
The 14-year-old represented Pompey on numerous occasions during a six-week contract with the Premiership club during October and November and he signed another contract keeping him on the south coast until the end of this season.
Rondel, a product of the Capita Jersey Football Association Centre of Excellence, and winner of the Sid Guy Award last March, was spotted playing for Jersey in the Isle of Wight tournament earlier this year by Pompey academy scout David Hurst, formerly Head of Youth when the Premiership club ran a Centre of Excellence.
