Trustees to be asked to justify suspension
Saturday 27th December 2008, 9:59AM GMT.
THE trustees of the Family Nursing and Home Care charity will be asked to justify the suspension of the organisation’s chief executive at an emergency meeting next month.
It is expected that hundreds of members, including many nurses, will be present at the Town Hall on Wednesday 14 January to hear questions as to why the trustees suspended Karen Huchet, pictured, in August.
An inquiry was launched into the way she treated members of her staff and she was accused of bullying and harassment. But her supporters believe that the charges are completely unjustified and allege that an attempt is being made to force her from office permanently for other reasons.
The special general meeting of the charity – the Island’s biggest, with 7,000 members – was arranged after a group of Ms Huchet’s supporters signed a motion.
