Herbert grabs more indoor hockey glory
Monday 5th January 2009, 2:59PM GMT.
BECKIE Herbert netted three goals in the semi-final of Wessex Leopards’ WASA Cup campaign this weekend to send her side sailing into a victorious final match over Denmark.
The Great Britain and England hockey star scored four times in all in gaining another indoor honour at the international tournament hosted by Danish club Orient Lyngby.
Herbert, a Commonwealth Games bronze medallist in 2006, only made her international indoor debut last month, helping England to win a tri-nations event over Scotland and Australia.
She was selected for the WASA Cup’s Wessex Leopards squad, an England representative team, alongside a number of established international indoor and outdoor hockey players.
