Vandals rampage through old hotel

A GANG of teenagers caused more than £5,000 worth of damage when they went on the rampage inside a former St Saviour hotel.
Around seven youths are thought to have smashed their way through the old Hotel L’Emeraude between 7 pm and 10 pm on Friday.
They kicked down doors and caused extensive damage to furniture and radiators. The youths also smashed picture frames and let off fire extinguishers. Police say that the gang also stole electrical equipment.
A spokesman said that seven youths were seen inside the Rue St Thomas building, which is behind the Longueville Manor hotel, and efforts were being made to identify all of them. So far, officers have arrested two 18-year-olds and two 17-year-olds. No one has yet been charged, but inquires were continuing today.

If charged the parents of the minors should be made to pay for the damage, the other ‘older thugs’ should pay out of their own pockets…
