CLASS I Powerboat racing could be held in Jersey waters next year.
Former Jersey resident Paul Stewart is keen to get the Island to help stage a series race in the summer of 2010 in St Aubin’s Bay.
Stewart, who was born in Scotland and came to the Island as a three-year-old, has recently passed his pilot’s examinations having been involved in various capacities in the Class I championship for the past six years.
A former Halkett Place and St Helier Boys’ student, who now resides in Alicante, Spain, where he runs a marine hydraulics company, said: ‘Although I left the Island ten years ago I continue to fly the Island flag everywhere I go. I’ve just qualified for my pilot’s licence and I’m really looking forward to racing this year.’
