p44-colour-13-jan_cropped.jpgTWO ten-year-olds have taken international honours at the European Kenpo Karate Championships in Hungary.

Emma Crossley and Keenan Panton fought opposition from countries including Australia, the USA, Russia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia – and won two golds and a silver medal between them.

The youngsters were part of a seven-strong team of Jersey Kenpo Karate Association members invited to take part in the championships at the Butokugan martial arts centre in Budapest last month.

Crossley took gold in both form and weapons, while Panton won silver in form. Instructors Roy MacDonald and Ray Molloy were asked to run two seminars at the event, and the entire Jersey squad – which included Brian Crossley and Thomas Panton – performed a special demonstration on the final day of competition.
