Goalkeeper Fabio Andrade made an error trying to control the ball with a foot and young Tower striker Kieran Lester, who looked to be was chasing a lost cause, nipped into score the match winner.

Tower’s under-21 Muratti goalkeeper Luke Bechelet then turned substitute Carlos Ferreira’s shot against the outside of a post and Portuguese’s last chance had ended. It is Tower’s seventh Willis victory, with their reserve side having won the trophy five times in the past.

It was tough luck on Portuguese as the runaway Coca-Cola Championship leaders should have been comfortably ahead by half time but missed opportunities meant they crossed over trailing 1-0.
