It’ll be your own fault if you run out of water
Monday 19th January 2009, 2:57PM GMT.
From Mike Throssell.
IN early December while visiting St Helier on business I noticed that the shower near the beach was jammed on, with water pouring down the pavement.
Knowing that Jersey can sometimes be a victim of a water shortage I tried to turn the shower off. After firstly getting soaked because I turned the top tap by mistake, I realised that it wouldn’t turn off.
Imagine my surprise when on Tuesday 14 January I noticed that the tap was still spurting water. This spot must have been passed by hundreds of people in the past six weeks – has no-one bothered to report it or have the authorities not bothered to fix it?
Don’t come running to me in August when you have no water in your taps.

KIT 4 CLUBS
Win a share of £10,000
2012 is the year of the London Olympics and to celebrate this great event the Jersey Evening Post, in association with sponsors Ogier is giving all sporting clubs a chance to win a share of £10,000.
Here in Germany water is metered and I pay over £3,65 per M³.
Water is as valuable as oil in some countries, and to waste water in such a way should in my opinion be punished.
