Christian belief is specific

Wednesday 28th January 2009, 2:57PM GMT.

From John Heys.
I WISH to reply to Bridget Murphy’s letter (JEP, 23 January) regarding the funding of the Town Church, in which she erroneously states: ‘Christian belief, like the mainstream religions, is in one God, not a particular God.’

If she would care to read the following, which are to be found in the Bible – Isaiah ch 43 v 10 and 11; Kings v 8 ch 60; Mark ch 12 v 29; 1 Corinthians v 5 and 6; 1 Timothy ch 2 v 5 – she will see that, contrary to her statement, the Christian belief is specific in only one God, called Jehovah, not Buddha, Allah, Krishna, Kali or any other of the hundreds of religious gods lumped under His name.
